The sacred Vishu Agosham 2026 at Kottiyam Sree Mahavishnu Temple, Kollam is a divine celebration marking the Malayalam New Year with devotion, prosperity and spiritual joy. The festival will be observed on April 15, 2026, with special rituals and traditional offerings dedicated to Lord Mahavishnu. On this auspicious day, devotees gather early in the morning for the sacred Vishukkani Darshan believed to bring abundance and good fortune throughout the year.

The celebrations begin at 04:30 AM with Vishukkani Darshan and Vishukkaineettam, followed by special poojas including offerings such as silver crown, Bhagavatha Parayanam, Muzhukkappu and Udayada. The day continues with the powerful Ganapathi Homam at 05:30 AM, invoking blessings for prosperity and obstacle-free beginnings. Devotees also participate in morning prasadam distribution and Usha Pooja at 07:15 AM.

A special highlight of the festival is the Bhagavatha Parayanam conducted at 08:00 AM, enriching the spiritual atmosphere of the temple. The day further continues with Ucha Pooja at 11:30 AM and concludes with serene Deeparadhana at 06:00 PM.

Vishukkani Darshan & Vishukkaineettam Begins

The sacred Vishu celebrations begin early morning with Vishukkani Darshan at 04:30 AM, followed by Vishukkaineettam distribution to devotees as a blessing of prosperity and new year fortune.

Ganapathi Homam

At 05:30 AM, the powerful Ganapathi Homam is performed to remove obstacles and invoke blessings for a successful and prosperous year ahead.

Usha Pooja & Morning Rituals

At 07:15 AM, Usha Pooja is performed with special offerings, followed by distribution of prasadam and devotional rituals inside the temple premises.

Bhagavatha Parayanam

From 08:00 AM, sacred Bhagavatha Parayanam is conducted, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere filled with devotion and divine chanting.

Ucha Pooja & Deeparadhana

At 11:30 AM, Ucha Pooja is performed followed by evening Deeparadhana at 06:00 PM, marking the peaceful conclusion of the Vishu Agosham celebrations.

Deeparadhana
