Maha Mrityunjaya Homam and Maha Sudarshana Homam

The sacred Maha Mrityunjaya Homam and Maha Sudarshana Homam at the revered Lekshmi Narayana Temple, Alappuzha will be held on May 16 and May 17 as part of the temple’s special spiritual ceremonies. These powerful Vedic rituals attract devotees from various parts of Kerala who come to seek divine blessings for health, prosperity, protection, peace and spiritual well being. The temple atmosphere during the festival becomes deeply devotional with sacred chants, homams, poojas and traditional offerings.

On Saturday, May 16, the ceremonies will begin with the auspicious Ganapathi Homam, followed by the highly revered Maha Mrityunjaya Homam, which is performed for protection from diseases, removal of negative energies, and blessings for long life and good health. Devotees can also participate in the special Naranga Vilakku Pooja, an important offering believed to bring positivity and divine grace.

The celebrations will continue on Sunday, May 17 with the sacred Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam and the powerful Maha Sudarshana Homam, which is believed to remove obstacles and provide spiritual protection.
